This is a story about the loves and careers of four sisters from a wealthy background. Their father, Mr. Gu, is the head of their Luoyang family, who one day, along with his wife, suddenly go missing, leaving their daughters to fend for themselves. Mr. Gu’s younger brother is quick to plot how he can relieve his nieces of their newly-found assets. Uncle Gu approaches the Gu family’s rivals, the Li family, with a scheme. If his eldest niece, Ruo Ruo, were forced to marry the Li family’s second son, Cong, she would lose her right of inheritance, leaving him in control of the riches.
